John Brickels is a ceramic artist who works with stonewall clay. He earned a degree in Art Education from the University of Akron and taught elementary art for many years. He primarily makes wall pieces and sculptures. Brickels prefers to work with earthenware, stoneware, ceramic decals, stains, glazes, and taxidermy eyes. He incorporates car parts into many of his pieces. Brickels is an artist who uses symbolism and detail to express what he want the viewer to see.
